Colorado Rockies: Three trade package ideas for Nolan Arenado | Rox Pile

There are plenty of us Rockies fans who really want to see Nolan Arenado back in a Rockies uniform for the 2019 season. However, we have to acknowledge that this isn’t necessarily a given. One option is that the Rockies are able to keep him, building things around him, but then they can’t re-sign him in 2020. Another choice would be to set him free now, saving potential heartache later. We could get some optimal trades for him now, which could be beneficial. Next would be waiting till the trade deadline, but this would be hard and risky, as that midpoint can still be make or break. While the Rockies would likely be best off with Arenado on the team, we need to think about other possibilities.

Tyson Crocker at Rox Pile breaks down potential trade options, starting with a conglomerate from the New York Mets. Then he talks about Arenado going to the Cardinals and several St. Louis players coming to Denver. Or maybe it would be a deal with the Angels. Regardless of what happens, the 2019 season could be a big deal for the Rockies, so we’ll see what they can do.

As Arizona Fall League nears midseason, Tyler Nevin and Jesus Tinoco highlight the play of seven Rockies’ prospects | Denver Post ($)

The Rockies have been glad to have depth this year, and the minor league prospects are sure proving they have what it takes. Infielder Tyler Nevin is especially impressive, with a .421 average and the potential for defensive development. Third baseman Josh Fuentes has also been impressive, showing that he could possibly play at the major league level. Pitcher Jesus Tinoco has also been doing well, showing us that there is plenty of talent among the Rockies’ prospects.
