Rockies don’t pick up option on Gerardo Parra | Rockies.com
On Tuesday the Rockies declined Gerardo Parra’s team option for the 2019 season, and instead they chose to pay him the $1.5 million buyout. That completes the three-year, up and down deal the Rockies and Parra agreed to prior to the 2016 season. But, as Do-Hyoung Park writes, that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the end of the line in this relationship.
Park writes that the Rockies “will entertain the idea of agreeing to a less expensive deal with Parra, who showed value as a pinch-hitter this season.” That arrangement would make some sense, especially if Carlos González is really gone this time and Matt Holliday isn’t coming back in a bench role. Free agency is underway, so we could learn about what will happen very soon.

Every team’s biggest free agent regret | MLB.com
This ranking from Will Leitch is all-time, not just this past offseason. Mike Hampton is named as the Rockies’ biggest free agent regret here, though there could be some competition for that mantle in the next few years.
