Brendan Rodgers, six other top Rockies prospects homer in one day

There were plenty of long balls to go around for Rockies prospects as six PuRPs plus Raimel Tapia all homered in minor league action. In addition to Tapia, Tom Murphy (no. 11 PuRP), Jordan Patterson (no. 14 PuRP), Brendan Rodgers (no. 1 PuRP), Garrett Hampson (no. 9 PuRP), Brian Mundell (no. 13 PuRP), and Forrest Wall (no. 16 PuRP) had home runs for their respective clubs. So while the major league club has scored five runs total in its past four games, at least the prospects are showing signs of life at the plate.

Two starting pitcher PuRPs also pitched Monday evening. Sam Howard (no. 10 PuRP) struggled, allowing six walks in just four innings. However, Ryan Castellani (no. 6 PuRP) had a strong outing for Hartford, allowing one run in five innings with eight strikeouts.
