The Albuquerque Isotopes lost a high scoring game against the Reno Aces on Friday night, but that didn’t stop first baseman Ryan McMahon (no. 2 PuRP), right fielder Jordan Patterson (no. 14 PuRP), and center fielder Mike Tauchman (no. 22 PuRP) from hitting home runs in an attempt to win the game. Patterson got things going with a three run shot in the bottom of the fourth, and then Tauchman hit a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth. Two batters later, McMahon hit a two run shot to try to get the Isotopes back in the game. They were a grand slam away from a home run cycle, but it wasn’t quite enough to propel the team to victory.
In other news, Hartford Yard Goats right fielder Sam Hilliard (no. 17 PuRP) stole his 13th base and collected two hits. Lancaster JetHawks left fielder Vince Fernandez (no. 28 PuRP) collected a triple and a double with two RBI en route to the only win by a Rockies affiliate on Friday night.
