Fresh off a series win against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, the Colorado Rockies kickoff a three-game series against the New York Mets tonight. With a 3-3 record on the current road trip, another series win would guarantee the Rockies another winning road trip.
Germán Márquez will look to continue the Rockies starting pitchers’ dominant stretch of starts. Outside of Tyler Anderson’s abbreviated start last Friday, the Rockies have gotten at least six innings in each of the last eight starts and seven innings in each of the last four starts. It has not just been quantity either as the Rockies starters have also accumulated a 1.68 ERA and struck out 51 against only 10 walks. Considering that the last three games of that stretch were at Wrigley Field with the wind blowing out and it gets all the more impressive.
