Rockies prospect Mike Tauchman stays hot for the ‘Topes; Roberto Ramos keeps on slugging

Prospect news and game results from the Rockies minor league affiliates from Tuesday, May 8, 2018

Mike Tauchman continued his Triple-A resurgence by going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and a stolen base (his fourth in 15 games since being sent down). Tauchman is now slugging .677 for Albuquerque, providing offense at an alarming rate, and Rockies fans are left wondering why — after a fantastic spring training, too — we haven’t seen this type of production at the big league level. Tom Murphy continued to produce for the ‘Topes with an RBI double, and Ryan McMahon went 2-for-4 in the victory.

In Lancaster, the JetHawks fell just shy of completing a big 9th inning comeback, Colton Welker stayed hot by going 2-for-3 with a double, and non-PuRP Roberto Ramos hit his 6th home run in the past seven games. Vince Fernandez also had a big day by hitting a double and a home run.

Hartford had a great at the plate, as well, and were led by Garrett Hampson (2-for-4, HR), Dom Nuñez (1-for-4, RBI double), and Wes Rogers (1-for-4, RBI, SB). Since starting the season 2-8, the Yard Goats have won 16 out of their last 21 games, and the team’s PuRP-heavy lineup is beginning to really shine.
