The Hartford Yard Goats got homers from a pair of Rockies prospects and a strong pitching performance from another one in a 6-1 win over the Altoona Curve. Top prospect Brendan Rodgers continued his hot stretch for the Yard Goats, going 3-for-4 with his 13th home run of the season. Rodgers is now hitting .287/.339/.538 for Hartford this season and with his recent performance — a 1.066 OPS in June — could be pushing for a promotion.
Fellow prospect Dom Nuñez also homered for the Yard Goats and Peter Lambert allowed just one run in 8 2⁄3 innings, striking out eight in the victory.
