Rockies prospect Tom Murphy hits his 16th dinger in Isotopes victory

With the Albuquerque Isotopes and Omaha Storm Chasers tied at six in the ninth inning, catcher Tom Murphy (no. 11 PuRP) hit a two-run home run in the top of the inning to break it up and give the Isotopes another victory. It was his sixteenth homer of the year. His teammate Pat Valaika caused the 6-6 tie in the top of the eighth inning, where he hit his third home run of the season - a solo shot. Garrett Hampson (no. 9 PuRP) and Jordan Patterson (no. 14 PuRP) didn’t hit home runs, but they combined for five hits, a double, two runs, and one RBI.

In Lancaster, Willie Abreu (no. 26 PuRP) also recorded two doubles in the JetHawks’ loss to Lake Elsinore Storm. Chad Spanberger (no. 29 PuRP) picked up another home run in Asheville, a three run shot in the first and his 16th of the year, in the Tourists’ loss to the Lexington Legends.
