Baseball is a humbling game, especially for those of us watching it. Sure, we like to talk about how we saw Nolan Arenado coming before he even got to Modesto, but who are we kidding? For every one of those, we get about half a dozen predictions like that wrong every season.
With the MLB Draft firmly in the books, let’s take a look back on these swings and misses from the past.
What Rockies player were you the most wrong about?
For me, it was Ian Stewart. I was sure he was going to be the third baseman of the future, a franchise cornerstone that would put the Rockies back on the map. I was...not right about that one. I want to know more about which ones you were wrong about. And it doesn’t have to be negative! I know more than one commenter on this site saw Charlie Blackmon as a fourth outfielder at best, or figured DJ LeMahieu would be an all-glove, little-bat second baseman during his time in Denver.
But we also want to hear about how you were so sure the Casey Weathers pick was going to be a slam dunk.
Write up a FanPost (if you’ve never done one here are a couple handy guides for you) and tell us all about it. Make sure to include “FPF” in the title and we will post some of our favorites on the front page next week.
