It’s only been a few games, but Daniel Montano is off to a good start in his stateside debut. The number 15 PuRP went 1-for-3 with a home run and walk for the Grand Junction Rockies Wednesday night. He has five hits in 16 at bats, and four of those hits have gone for extra bases. In addition to Wednesday night’s home run, Montano has two doubles and a triple.
Ryan Castellani had a tough start for Hartford. The number 6 PuRP allowed eight hits and walked two batters in five innings pitched while striking out four. Castellani’s strikeouts have been down and his walks have been up thus far in 2018. The 22-year-old still has some work to do before making the next leaps to the majors.
