Rockies prospect Roberto Ramos homers twice—again

New, 7 comments

Prospect news and game results from the Rockies minor league affiliates from Friday, June 22, 2018.

It was a busy day throughout the Colorado Rockies’ farm system on Friday. Their affiliates combined to play a seven games, but lost only three. Among the action, the biggest highlight came from Roberto Ramos, who made an instant impact in his second game for the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats by hitting two home runs.

No, this isn’t yesterday’s Pebble Report. Roberto Ramos actually homered twice again on Friday after accomplishing the feat on Thursday. This time it was part of a winning effort for Hartford, as Ramos added a double for good measure. It’s only two games, but hitting .625/.625/2.250 right after a promotion is pretty impressive. His season line across two levels is .315/.418/.698 with 21 home runs in 2018, second only to Seuly Matias of the Royals system, who has 23 homers in the South Atlantic League. He should probably find a way onto your next PuRPs list. Just saying.
