The Rockies selected high school first baseman Grant Lavigne with the 42nd pick of the 2018 draft. The selection was from Competitive Balance Round A. Lavigne is out of Bedford High School in New Hampshire.

Lavigne currently has a commitment to Wake Forrest, but the Rockies should be able to entice him away from that and sign with the big club.
