Colton Welker and Willie Abreu each hit a home run and the Lancaster JetHawks were carried by the two PuRPs in a 6-4 win over Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday night.
Welker and Abreu contributed four of the six RBI during the contest, one that Lancaster led from the first inning through the last. The Hawks were anchored by Brandon Gold, who turned in an outstanding start allowing only one run over six and striking out seven Quakes. Gold’s night was especially impressive in the famous (or infamous) band box Lancaster stadium The Hangar. He lowered his ERA 5.19 on the season.
The JetHawks have had an up and down season in 2018, the win Wednesday night improved them to 28-31 on the year.
