FanPost Friday: Favorite baseball memory with dad

This Father’s Day, let’s honor the fathers/father figures who helped pass along the love of the game

Next Sunday (as in 10 days from now; don’t worry, you have time) is Father’s Day in the United States. Whether or not it was originally contrived by card companies and tie manufacturers to boost sales, it’s still a great way to remember and honor all that dear old dad did for us. Many of us learned the game of baseball from our fathers or other father-figure type. Which brings us to our prompt for this week:

What is your favorite baseball memory with your dad?

For some, it will be as simple as standing in the yard playing catch until it was too dark to see the ball. For others, it will be a Rockies game or maybe even a baseball road trip. Don’t feel like this is limited to your biological father, either! None of us get to where we are by ourselves so if you’d like to highlight someone who played a particularly paternal role in your life, tell us about that memory.

Write up a FanPost (if you’ve never done one here are a couple handy guides for you) and tell us all about it. Make sure to include “FPF” in the title and we will post some of our favorites on the front page next week.
