On a slow day for the Rockies’ minor league affiliates, Garrett Hampson showed off his speed by going 2-for-5 and stealing three more bases for the Isotopes. He now has 34 bags swiped on the year, split between Double-A and Triple-A, in 89 games played.
Garrett hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down since his promotion to Albuquerque earlier this year, and while his K% is up and BB% is down since the call-up, his OBP has remained fairly stable. He continues to be a dynamic player atop the lineup for the ‘Topes, keeping opposing pitchers and catchers on their toes.
In Asheville, Sean Bouchard had another nice night at the plate, collecting two hits, two RBI, and his twelfth stolen base of the year. Chad Spanberger collected a double, and Robert Tyler gave up a two-run home run in the loss to the Grasshoppers, raising his ERA to 4.21.
