Rockies prospect Brendan Rodgers hits two walk offs in one day

Fresh off his showing in the Futures Game at Nationals Park, Brendan Rodgers pulled off something incredibly rare on Wednesday. Playing a doubleheader against the Reading Phils, Rodgers had a walk off hit in both games. In the first game, Rodgers’ single drove in Chris Rabago for a 2-1 victory. In the second game, Rodgers hit a walk off, two run double to win 3-2.

The Rockies number one prospect raised his average to .274 with the rare afternoon. The 21-year-old shortstop now has an OPS of .850 and 61 RBI. Rodgers has impressed in his stint with the Goats, his first full season in AA. After a huge season in Lancaster last year, the youngster is on pace for 20 home run, 20 stolen base season and has kept right in line with his career slugging percentage even away from the hitter friendly confines of The Hangar.
