The Colorado Rockies are among four teams that have checked in on several available Cincinnati Reds relievers, according to MLB.com’s Jon Morosi.
In addition to the Rockies, Morosi reports that the Red Sox, Braves and Philles are interested in the relievers the Reds, last in the NL Central at 44-56, have for trade.
Morosi reports that the Reds are willing to move relievers David Hernandez, Jared Hughes and closer Raisel Iglesias, and that teams have inquired about lefty Amir Garrett, but Cincinnati has “no plans” to move him currently.
Hughes and Hernandez each signed two-year deals with the Reds prior to this season and Iglesias will not be a free agent until after the 2021 season. Hughes and Hernandez have both posted sub-2.00 ERAs this season and Iglesias has a 2.30 ERA and 19 saves.
While Morosi reports the Reds have no plans to move Garrett, he would be an intriguing name for the Rockies, the hard-throwing lefty has posted a 3.47 ERA in 47 apparances this season, striking out 58 in 49 1⁄3 innings. Additionally, he has not yet entered his arbitration years.
Any of the Reds relievers mentioned could give a boost to the Rockies bullpen down the stretch, yet it remains to be seen if they can get a deal done.
