Thursday Pebble Report: Rico Garcia pitches another gem

Rico Garcia is slowly becoming a “sneaky good” prospect after his last performance for AA Hartford. Garcia pitched five innings Wednesday night, striking out six and only allowing two runs (both on solo homers). The 24-year-old right hander dropped his ERA to 2.76 in Hartford after the performance. In total, across Lancaster and Hartford (two hitters parks), Garcia has a 3.20 ERA with 145 Ks in 149 innings.

Rico isn’t on many radars but the righty has announced himself with a strong 2018 in the system. His control is notable, only walking 70 batters in his minor league career (around 2.5 per nine) and as his K rate holds steady in the upper levels it’s easy to see how he may be an under the radar looker for the Rockies system.

The Yard Goats won 7-2 on Thursday night, Rico even added two RBI to his cause.
