The Colorado Rockies scored three runs in the top of the ninth against Braves reliever Brad Brach to snatch a 5-3 victory from the jaws defeat on Thursday.
After Trevor Story reached on an error and Gerardo Parra walked with the Rockies down 3-2, Ryan McMahon tied the game with an RBI single and David Dahl scored two with a single of his own to make it 5-3. Wade Davis then came in and, with a little help from DJ LeMahieu, closed out the win for his 33rd save of the season.
David Dahl Comes Through Twice
Getting a start in center field with Charlie Blackmon taking a day off, David Dahl gave the Rockies the lead twice, the first time with this solo home run in the top of the third:

The second time was much bigger, with a two-out, two-run single with the game tied at three in the ninth. He was 2-for-5 on the day with three runs driven in.
AWOOOOOOOOO
The Gray Wolf howled as Jon Gray continued his hot string of starts since his recall from Triple-A Albuquerque, giving up three runs, all earned, on five hits in seven innings of work with just one walk and nine strikeouts. The nine strikeouts were the most for Gray since he struck out 12 in a win over the Marlins on June 22. He threw 94 pitches, 62 for strikes.
Looking Ahead
The Kyle Freeland Guys will be out in force tomorrow as the Rockies look for their second straight win in a battle of young lefties as Freeland takes the mound against Atlanta’s Sean Newcomb. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. Mountain time.
