With another Tuesday in the books, another filthy outing from Ryan Rolison has the Rockies’ first-round pick primed for a breakout year in 2019. Pitching under a continued innings limit due to his workload at Ole Miss this year—but with a playoff hunt on the line for Grand Junction—Ryan tossed three no-hit innings against the Orem Owlz, walked one batter, and struck out two. He only needed 28 pitches to get through the third, had five groundouts to one fly out, and also picked off a runner at first.
Rolison has been a mix of both dominant and efficient this year. Over 29 total innings, he has struck out 34 and only walked eight, he has over two-and-a-half ground ball outs for every fly out, a sparkling 1.86 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and is holding batters to a .149 AVG.
The sky appears to be the limit for Ryan, and already listed as the Rockies’ sixth best prospect according to MLB Pipeline (and even higher according to you all as the no. 4 PuRP), he could continue to impress and climb the rankings even further.
