The Rockies’ position players continue to struggle in the AFL this year, as Colton Welker (no. 4 PuRP) led the position prospects again but only had three hits. However, catcher Brian Serven hit the Rafters’ first home run of the Fall League — a two-run shot in the fifth inning against the Glendale Desert Dogs on September 26.
On the pitching side, Alexander Guillen continues to perform well. He faced his first adversity this week, when he gave up his first earned run (a sacrifice groundout in the ninth) on September 24 against los Naranjeros de Hermosillo. However, he struck out the next batter to end the game. In his next appearance, he pitched two innings and struck out four batters. Hopefully his resilience continues!
