Right-handed pitcher Ashton Goudeau was the Rockies’ breakout prospect of the AFL this year. The 27-year-old was the only pitcher in the entire league not to allow a run, earning him the ERA title. In the championship game, he also recorded the win for the Salt River Rafters, pitching 2 2⁄3 innings with a hit and three strikeouts. Goudeau has been a bit of a late bloomer, but he will definitely be a prospect to pay attention to in 2020.
Catcher Brian Serven went out with a bang in the final two regular games of the Arizona Fall League, finishing a single shy of the cycle in his final two games. He finished with the best slash of the three position players and hit for the most power.
Righty Antonio Santos also finished strong after a rough start, not allowing an earned run in his final four appearances (6 2⁄3 innings). He struck out nine and didn’t issue a single walk during those final four appearances either. It definitely seems like he has adjusted to life in the bullpen and hopefully can take that momentum into 2020.
