It’s been a long, cold, cruel, dark winter. But all that is now behind us. Summer is here. Congratulations, everybody.
The 2019 Colorado Rockies season will get underway at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida and as the Rockies begin a four-game set against—you guessed it—the Miami Marlins and their new neon-on-black uniforms.
Fresh off his fourth-place NL Cy Young Award finish, Kyle Freeland gets the ball for the first game of the season. Starting opposite him for the Marlins is Jose Urena, who finished 2018 with a 3.98 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 130 strikeouts, and 59 walks over 174 2⁄3 innings. He also finished 9-12 for whatever that’s worth.
