The Rockies offense finally got going last night against the Dodgers, but just a little too late as they still lost 10-6. Five of the six runs were scored in the seventh inning or later thanks to two home runs from Trevor Story (a two-run shot in the 7th and a solo shot in the 9th) and one from David Dahl. Tyler Anderson was pulled after four innings after allowing six runs on nine hits with three walks and two strikeouts. He was tagged with the loss — his second of the young season.
Jon Gray takes the mound again after his ten strikeout performance in Miami, where he was lifted with a calf cramp after 6 2⁄3 innings. He will be looking to build on that momentum against Dodgers righty Walker Buehler, who finished third in the 2018 NL Rookie of the Year voting with a 2.62 ERA and 151 strikeouts. Buehler was roughed up a little bit in his first start against the Diamondbacks, where he was tagged for five runs on five hits after three innings of work, so he will probably be looking to bounce back today.
