Fresh off a series win against the lowly Orioles, the Rockies (24-27) welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks (28-25) for a four game set at Coors Field starting Monday afternoon.
Jon Gray hopes to build off his seven strong innings last time out in Pittsburgh. He gave up three runs on seven hits with just the single walk and seven strikeouts. This is his first time facing Arizona this season.
The D-backs will send Donald Zackary Greinke to the mound and he’s having yet another good season, with a 2.89 ERA over 11 starts. He faced the Rockies on May 5, allowing three runs over six innings at Coors Field in a game the Rockies went on to win 8-7.
The Rockies will be without Charlie Blackmon, who was placed on the 10-day IL today, retroactive to Friday, due to a calf strain. The club recalled Yonathan Daza to take his place on the active roster. The Rockies also reinstated Noel Cuevas from the IL and optioned him to Triple-A. Trevor Story is also out of the starting lineup; Brendan Rodgers gets the start at shortstop in his place.
