The Rockies lost 10-9 last night in another classic game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. I don’t know about you, but I always look forward to playing the D-backs because they always produce such interesting games. What’s even more interesting is how these two teams have been playing — the Rockies had won 12 of their last 17 and the Diamondbacks had won 12 of their last 16. The D-backs have the better record at 19-13 due to their better start, but they’re once again on a very similar trajectory. That’ll set up another fun weekend at Coors, which started last night of course. Kyle Freeland takes the mound in his second start back from the IL with the finger blister. He’ll be up against Luke Weaver, the 25-year-old right-hander who was part of the Paul Goldschmidt trade. Weaver has pitched surprisingly well this year, owning a 2-1 record and a 3.73 ERA. The only time he gave up more than three hits was his first start on March 31 against the Dodgers.
