Colorado Rockies game no. 37 thread: Kyle Freeland vs. Derek Holland

Start time, lineups, and discussion for what figures to be a cold game in Denver.

The last time the Rockies (16-20) got rained out they...lost three straight. But then they turned around and won eight of ten. So, you know, maybe it’ll be a good thing?

In case you missed it, yesterday’s game was postponed to July 15 as part of a split double-header. Today, Kyle Freeland tries to right his and the Rockies’ ship against Derek Holland of the Giants (16-20). A Rockies loss drops them into the NL West cellar. A win gives them a one-game cushion on the Giants with the Padres coming to town for the weekend.

Freeland got tagged for eight runs in six innings last Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He, as well as the rest of Rockies-dom, would like to see something better, especially since the team has allowed 10 runs per game on the homestand.

There has been “snow” in the Denver area all morning but those heated coils below the field surface will probably mean the game gets started close to on time. If there’s a delay we’ll be sure to keep this post updated.
