After a crazy weekend against the Padres, the Rockies were able to throttle the Diamondbacks at Chase Field 8-1 with the most aid from Antonio Senzatela, Nolan Arenado, and Charlie Blackmon. Today, Jon Gray will be on the mound against the red hot Zack Greinke. The Gray Wolf last started on June 13th against the Padres in which he pitched six innings and gave up four runs (all earned including a home run). He also struck out ten Padres. In the wild game on Sunday, he pitched 1⁄3 of an inning out of the bullpen and ultimately walked Matt Strahm after intentionally loading the bases, which allowed the Padres to emerge victorious. Hopefully today he is able to bounce back against D-backs’ ace Zack Greinke, who boasts an 8-2 record and 2.65 ERA in 15 games this season and the team has won his last three starts.
