The Rockies made a transaction prior to today’s game. They’ve recalled infielder Garrett Hampson and have sent Jesús Tinoco back down to Triple-A Albuquerque, the team announced. The Rockies now have either eight or nine relievers on the active roster, depending on whether or not you count Chad Bettis as a reliever or a starter. Either way, I’d expect another transaction today or Tuesday. Thomas Harding reports that there’s “discussion” about whether or not to bring Peter Lambert up to fill a rotation spot, although nothing is decided yet.
But that’s for later. Today, the Rockies will attempt to win their eighth consecutive game and sweep their second consecutive series. They’ll give the ball to Antonio Senzatela, who will face off against Aaron Sanchez.
