A strange Fourth of July for the Rockies

Rockies news and links for July 5, 2019

It’s wrong for the Colorado Rockies to not play on the Fourth of July | Rox Pile

As we celebrate America, it feels strange to not view America’s pastime with the Rockies. The Rockies and baseball are always ready to celebrate other holidays during the season, so it was odd to see a day off on the Fourth. Sure, it’s great for the players to have the time off to do what they will with the holiday, but it feels weird as a fan to not watch the Rockies play before the fireworks start. With the All Star Game right around the corner, it’s interesting that the Rockies got Thursday off, but one thing’s for sure: fan will be ready to watch the Rockies play on Friday.

Yonathan Daza continues to thrive in his leadoff position with the Isotopes, racking up three runs on two hits. Elliot Soto and Sam Hilliard also did well in the win against the Isotopes, each racking up a run on two hits. Brian Mundell played well as the DH, getting two runs on two hits.
