Major League Baseball announced the 2020 regular season schedule. Given the state of the Rockies in the 2019 season, it’s a good time to start looking ahead and thinking forward.
The Rockies will open the 2020 season on the road on Thursday, March 26th against the San Diego Padres. They’ll follow that up with three games against the Dodgers in Los Angeles before returning to Denver to open the season at home.
The Padres will be the Rockies’ first home opponent as well. The 2020 home opener will be on Friday, April 3. After that, they’ll start their interleague slate, with two games against the Texas Rangers.
The Rockies will visit the Rangers in August, but otherwise the interleague schedule is against the American League Central. They’ll play two at home and two on the road against the Chicago White Sox. The Rockies will then play three game series at home home against the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Indians. They’ll play three game sets on the road against the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins.
The Rockies will conclude the season with a six-game home stand — three against the Dodgers followed by three against the Diamondbacks. The final day of the 2020 season will be on September 27th.
