After getting rocked for four home runs in the early innings, the Rockies were unable to recover and lost for the seventh time in eight games. If they win today, they will avoid being swept in two out of their last series as well. It will be a battle of the southpaws the day after National Left-handers Day, with Robbie Ray taking the hill against Kyle Freeland. Ray is having another solid season for the Snakes, posting a 10-7 record and a 3.99 ERA in 140 innings. He’s also quite the strikeout master, recording 185 on the year so far. That could spell trouble for the Rockies. Freeland is coming off of his best performance of 2019, going six innings while only allowing three runs off of eight hits. The Rockies did lose that game, though, 7-1 against the Padres. We’ll see what happens today.
