Kyle Freeland’s the peripheral ignition that lights the Rockies | Mile High Sports
Kyle Freeland has not had the best 2019. After a phenomenal performance in the 2018 season, he lagged in the new year, needing to spend some time in Triple-A to get himself back on track. He’s now back with the Rockies and has been doing pretty well, showing how hard he’s worked to earn his spot back. He credits this kind of work ethic to his father, who taught him to give the things he did 100%. He tries to extend this mindset to his teammates, encouraging them right before taking the field. Freeland wants to win, and he wants his team to feel the same way. His competitive spirit, along with Nolan Arenado’s, boosts the team. Freeland is grateful to his brother for fostering this nature, as Freeland was playing with the older boy and his friends, trying to prove himself. Despite his struggles this year, he’s still tried to be a supportive force, and his teammates certainly felt his absence. Now he’s back, and hopes are that he can pitch well and be an emotional leader on top of that.

He’s going for his fourth start in a row with two or less runs scored against him. Then we’ll see how Peter Lambert can do against Gerrit Cole. This podcast breaks down some statistics and thoughts on how the series will go.
On the Farm
The Isotopes played a close game against Nashville, with the offense working pretty well for them. Elliot Soto got two hits and scored a run. Every other player on the team got a hit, with the exception of Roberto Ramos. Antonio Senzatela had a rough night, allowing four hits off of nine runs. There was a tight battle right at the end of the game, but DJ Johnson and Yency Almonte were able to get the job done.
