Despite the trade rumors and quiet off-season fans are feelings hopeful for the 2020 season. The Denver Post interviewed more than two dozen of the 5,500 fans that attended Rockies Fest and the general consensus was that they are hopeful that the pitching can improve and that the Rockies can bounce back after a rough 2019 season.
Rockies’ Bud Black says situation with Nolan Arenado and front office will work itself out | ESPN
The situation between Nolan Arenado and the Rockies front office seems to be a constant discussion. We’ve talked about it a lot. It’s all over social media and was a topic that loomed over Rockies Fest, especially with the media. Bud Black, Kyle Freeland, David Dahl and Trevor Story were available to the media (Jeff Bridich was not) and their sentiments were that it will work itself out. Story believes that once the players are back at spring training the focus will be on a new season and winning games.

Also on the topic of being in-shape, Black said #Rockies fans are going to see "a different Daniel Murphy"
In addition to the Bud Black commenting on the Arenado/Bridich situation we learned that that Antonio Senzatela worked this offseason to lose some weight in hopes of improvement. I don’t know if these changes mean he will be in the bullpen or will return to the starting rotation. Only time will tell. Black also mentioned that we’re going to see a different Daniel Murphy. Will Murphy be able to contribute at the plate like we were hoping to see in 2019?
So, what I’ve learned following Rockies Fest is that despite a quiet offseason the expectations are that changes are being made by current players to come back in 2020 a better team than what we saw last season. Sezatela is more lean, Murphy is “different,” Freeland is hoping to bounce back. Will that solve all of the problems the Rockies faced in 2019?

David Dahl and Trevor Story were present at the Denver Nuggets game yesterday when the tragic news of Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crash broke. All those aboard perished in the accident. Dahl and Story spoke of his impact both on and off the court.
The reports have confirmed that Bryant along with his daughter, Gianna, were on board. It has also been confirmed that Orange Coast College head baseball coach John Altobelli and his wife, Keri, and daughter, Alyssa, were also aboard. At the time of press, we don’t know the names of any of the additional passengers or the pilot.
