★ ★ ★
The Sim Rockies are now above .500 (and ahead of the Dodgers!) for the first time in 2020! After a rough start, the top of the order got going and Wade Davis sealed it with his first 1-2-3 inning of the young season. Overall, a nice team win.
ChuckNado to the rescue
After the Sim Rockies went down early thanks to a 432-foot two-run home-run by Sim Justin Turner in the second inning, Sim Nolan Arenado made sure that the Sim Rockies would not go quietly into that good night. He whacked a 432-footer of his own to put the Sim Rockies up 3-2. Sim Charlie Blackmon also made sure to let everyone know that he’s starting to get hot. After Sim Trevor Story tripled in the eighth inning, Blackmon knocked in the go-ahead run that ended up being the difference in the game.
Two Stories
Sim Trevor Story had two different games tonight, it seemed. He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a strikeout, but he also committed two errors. The first time he airmailed it nearly into the Sim Rockies dugout in the first, which let Sim Mookie Betts get to second and Sim Corey Seager to third. Bellinger popped out to Sim Nolan Arenado, but then Sim Will Smith was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Luckily Sim Chi Chi González was able to get out of the inning unscathed. The second time he fielded a grounder and just threw it a little ahead of Sim Daniel Murphy, just enough to pull him off the bag. Sim Charlie Blackmon also made an error right after, which ultimately led to a sacrifice fly by Will Smith to tie the game at three.
Wade Davis saves the day
Sim Wade Davis looked really good tonight, pitching his first 1-2-3 inning of 2020. He started off the ninth up 4-3 and was able to get Sim Joc Pederson to ground out, Sim Gavin Lux to pop out, and Sim Will Smith to strike out to end the game. Sim Davis has looked a little shaky this season (and for all of 2019, if we’re being honest) so hopefully this is the start of something new!
