The SimColorado Rockies took down the SimSt Louis Cardinals on Friday night by the score of 7-2. Nolan Arenado had a double, a home run, and four RBI as he continues his monstrous MVP-caliber campaign. Trevor Story and Daniel Murphy added a double and RBI each and Ian Desmond knocked his first donger of the sim 2020 season.
Offensive eruption
The SimRockies came into Friday night’s game in a bit of an offensive slump, having scored more than four runs just once since April 6. who came into this one hitting .343 with a monstrous 1.170 OPS knocked his team-leading eighth home run of the young season to give the Rockies a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The Rockies continued to pile on from there. Nolan drove in Story in the third, Story doubled off the wall in the fifth to drive in David Dahl, Desmond homered in the sixth, and Murphy drove in two in the seventh to give the sim fans some sim taco’s. Story also added two stolen bases in the game. Ryan McMahon and Tony Wolters were the only position players to go hitless on Friday.
Complete team performance
It wasn’t just the offense in this one. Antonio Senzatela wasn’t here for a long time but he was here for a good time, going just 4 1⁄3 innings but striking out six and allowing just four hits but was lifted due to pitch count in the fifth. Jeff Hoffman came in and retired the next five batters and the bullpen kept the Cardinals off the board until a two-run single from Dexter Fowler in the eighth.
