After a rough series opener on Tuesday, the Rockies will look to rebound with a win when they take on the Chicago White Sox in the second of a two-game series at Coors Field on Wednesday. The Rockies (14-14) will finish the season series against the White Sox with a two-game series in Chicago on May 18 and 19.
Antonio Senzatela, who is 0-1 on the season with a 2.74 ERA, will be on the mound for the Rockies, going head-to-head against Chicago righty Lucas Giolito, who is 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA. Hopefully Senzatela can keep Leury García in check after he hit two homers, including a grand slam, in Chicago’s 11-1 win on Tuesday. The Rockies also need more offense after mustering only two hits on Tuesday. Senzatela is coming off a short, but decent performance against the Giants last Thursday when he gave up two runs on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts in four innings in a 3-2 win. Thursday will mark Giolito’s first pitching performance at Coors Field in his five-year career in the big leagues. He has faced the Rockies once in 2016 when he was with the Nationals. In that game, he gave up four runs in five innings in a 5-3 loss. Nolan Arenado and David Dahl both homered off Giolito.
