Colorado Rockies simulation game no. 12 thread: Lance Lynn vs. Germán Márquez

The Sim Rockies look to close out the homestand with a win

The Sim Rockies (6-5) will be looking to split the two-game series against the Sim Rangers today and want to continue the streak of not losing a series in the 2020 season. Sim Germán Márquez will be on the mound, hoping to rebound from a four-inning performance in an 8-2 loss to the Dodgers on April 1. In two simulated starts, Márquez is 1-1 with a 4.22 ERA, a 1.500 WHIP, nine strikeouts, and three walks. The Rockies could use a solid start to give the bullpen a rest after Jon Gray had to leave in the fourth inning of Tuesday’s game after taking a comebacker to the groin. Sim Lance Lynn will be making the start for the Rangers. Lynn is coming off an impressive 2019 season where he finished fifth in AL Cy Young voting with a 16-11 record, a 3.67 ERA, and a 1.219 WHIP. The Rockies will be looking to get the offense back in action after only recording three hits in Tuesday’s shutout loss. Two of those came off the bat of David Dahl, whose started the sim season pretty slow with the bat. It might be tough as Lynn notched 246 strikeouts last season while only giving up 59 walks. Lynn is 2-2 in his career against the Rockies with a 2.76 ERA in seven starts.
