There was no broadcast for Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, but there was still Sim baseball played, and it wasn’t a pretty game but here's your rundown:
Brutal start
Sim German Marquez gave up a three-run home run to Sim Derek Dietrich in the top of the second to put the Reds up 3-0. In the third, the Reds doubled their score. One run scored on a throwing error by Sim Nolan Arenado (a good reminder that this game is fake because real Nolan would never), then Sim Freddy Galvis hit a double to left-center field to bring in two more runs (6-0 Reds).
Rockies start a comeback
The Rockies started chipping away at their 6-0 deficit in the bottom half of the third inning with a single from Sim Trevor Story to score Sim Jeff Hoffman. In the fourth, Sim Ryan McMahon sent a pitch over the fence to put the Rox back in the game, 6-3 Reds.
Reds capitalize on their lead
Just when we had hope that the Rockies were making their comeback, the Reds added more runs to their lead. In the eighth inning, Cincinnati plated two runs, and eventually one more in the ninth, and the Rockies lost 9-3.
Stats
The loss went to Sim Marquez (3-4), and his final line on the day was: 2 2⁄3 IP, 6 R, 6 H, 3 K. Sim Story and Sim McMahon led the Rockies offense. Story went 3-4 with an RBI, and McMahon 1-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored.
Up Next
Colorado will finish off their four-game series with the Reds on Sunday. Although there will not be a broadcast, a recap of the game will be posted on Purple Row.
