Sadly for the Sim Rockies, Sim Jake Arrieta proved why he is a former CY Young winner to anyone who might’ve forgotten. The Rockies’ offense could only produce three hits on the day, two of those left the yard off the bat of Sim Trevor Story. Sim Chi Chi Gonzalez gave up all four of the Phillies’ runs in his short outing. Sim Gonzalez’s final line was: 4 1⁄3 IP, 4 ER, 7 H, 1 SO. Phillies won 4-2, and the Rockies now hold a 15-16 record.
Rockies pitching debut
Sim Tim Collins looked great in his first appearance as a Rockie. Collins signed a minor league contract in the offseason and previously pitched for the Chicago Cubs. The veteran pitcher made nine appearances with the Cubs in the 2019 season, and he possessed a 3.12 ERA. In his one inning of work on Saturday, Collins pitched a 1,2,3 inning and struck out two of the batters he faced.
Offensive and defensive highlights
Sim Story led the offense by scoring the only two runs the Rockies came away with. Story went 2-for-4 with 2 HR, 2 RBI, and 2 R and has now hit five home runs this Sim Season. There were a couple web gems in the outfield, as well. Sim Ian Desmond and Sim Charlie Blackmon each flashed some leather by making diving catches worth a replay.
