Colorado Rockies simulation game No. 66 thread: Germán Márquez vs. Madison Bumgarner

Let’s start a homestand winning streak!

The Rockies had the day off on Monday and will return to action today with showdown against the Diamondbacks, kicking off a six-game homestand that also includes a three-game series with the Pirates. Colorado (27-38) is coming off a two-game winning streak with both wins coming against the Dodgers (4-2 on Saturday, 2-1 on Sunday). Germán Márquez (4-5, 7.43 ERA) will get the start for the Rockies. In his last two appearances, his first after returning from Triple-A, Márquez has only lasted five innings and given up three runs in each appearance. While that’s not too bad, when you add it to the offensive struggles the Rockies are having at the plate, it sometimes leads to too many runs for the slumping bats to overcome. Madison Bumgarner will be on the mound for Arizona (31-36). The Rockies just saw Bumgarner on June 2 when he only gave up one run (a Charlie Blackmon solo homer) on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts in seven innings in a 4-2 Diamondback win.
