Opening Day didn’t fare well for the Rockies, but hopefully the team can chalk up a mark in the win column today with Jon Gray on the mound. The 2019 season had many dark spots, but Gray’s pitching performance was not one of those. By August, he was sporting a 3.84 ERA (an improvement from his 2018 ERA of 5.12) before getting placed on the Injured List with a left foot stress fracture. However, he has been given a clean bill of health for 2020 and is ready to go.
Opposite Gray is Rangers lefty, Mike Minor. In 2019, Minor became a first-time All Star, recorded a career high of 14 wins and held a 3.59 ERA in 32 starts.
