The Rockies aim to begin a new streak of series wins against the Texas Rangers after finally suffering their first series loss at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Quality pitching, which was key to a hot start, was nowhere to be seen as the Rockies surrendered 32 total runs over the three-game series. The Rockies will turn to their rookie right-hander to get back on track as Ryan Castellani will be making his second career start on Friday, his first at Coors Field. Castellani excelled in his first appearance keeping the Seattle Mariners hitless through 4 innings before exiting the game. Charlie Blackmon comes into Friday’s game with the best batting average in baseball at a whopping 0.472 and will have the spotlight on him as he chases a 0.400 average for the short season.
Lance Lynn will take the mound for the Rangers, who sports a record of 2-0 with an ERA of 1.16. He faced the Rockies earlier this season on Opening Day and had a masterful performance en route to a 1-0 victory.
