In case you missed it, Charlie Blackmon is on fire to start this pandemic-shortened season! So far in 22 games, Chuck Nazty is hitting 38-for-87 (.437) with a 1.123 OPS. He has racked up 11 extra-base hits (7 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 home runs), 22 RBI, and 19 runs scored. He is one of three players hitting at or above .400 right now (DJ LeMahieu and Donovan Solano are the others). LeMahieu is hitting .411 in 73 at-bats and Solano is hitting .400 in 75 at-bats, but LeMahieu is also on the Injured List with a sprained left thumb.
Anyhow, Charlie has been one of many bright spots during this early part of the season — even batting .500 through last Tuesday. If he continues on this tear, he might become the first player to bat over .400 for the season since Ted Williams did it in 1941. He’s been a little cold over his last few games, but he could turn it around at any moment!
With all of the excitement, we collaborated with BreakingT to celebrate this historic start (and hopefully historic end) to the season. You can celebrate with us with this t-shirt to add to your collection.
If you follow this link, Purple Row will get a commission of the sales. In the past, we’ve used this money to buy prizes to give away at our annual Opening Day breakfast in Denver. We plan to do so for our 2021 breakfast, if it is safe to do so.
