After a heartbreaking loss in extra innings on Tuesday, the Rockies and Astros head to Denver to finish their four-game interleague series. Ryan Castellani will take the mound for the Rockies and will be looking for his first decision of the year (hopefully a win). So far in 2020, the rookie right-hander has made two starts and thus far has only given up one earned run on two hits for a nice 1.04 ERA in 8 2⁄3 innings.
He will face 26-year-old Framber Valdez — a third-year left-hander. Valdez has made three starts (four total appearances) in 2020 and has posted a 1.90 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 23 2⁄3 innings. In his last start against Seattle, Valdez allowed one earned run on four hits over six innings. He hit a batter, walked three, and struck out five in the Astros’ 11-1 rout of the Mariners.
