The Rockies announced today that top prospect Brendan Rodgers has been recalled:
The Rockies announced today that they have placed OF David Dahl on the 10-day injured list with lower back soreness (retroactive to Aug. 18) and have recalled INF Brendan Rodgers from the Rockies’ alternate training site.

The move happens after the Colorado Rockies have hit a 2-7 losing skid.
Dahl has struggled at the plate, slashing .171/.275/.286 and was scratched from the lineup prior to yesterday’s game due to lower-back tightness. The move is retroactive to August 18.
Rodgers began 2020 at the Rockies alternative site but was moved to the taxi squad over the weekend. As Nick Groke reported, the Rockies left Rodgers off the Opening Day roster due to a lack of defensive versatility and his inexperience at the plate.
Bud Black noted in a media availability, “Word is [Rodgers is] doing very well. He’s moving great. He feels 100 percent with his ability to play short and second and to make all plays. And offensively, he’s swinging the bat well. It’s just batting practice, but the ball is jumping off his bat. All signs are that Brendan is playing very well.”
As the comments on Purple Row have indicated, Rockies fans are eager for this move. However, Rodgers was not included on tonight’s lineup against the Astros — Chris Owings has returned — so we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see Rodgers in action.
