Colorado Rockies game No. 30 thread: Germán Márquez vs. Alex Young

Let’s keep the winning going!

With the losing streak broken thanks to a 3-2 Rockies’ victory on Monday night, Germán Márquez will look to get back on track and keep the Rockies (14-15) moving in a winning direction as he takes the mound against Arizona (13-17) on Tuesday night. Márquez (2-4) has lost three consecutive games, including his worst performance of the season in his last start — a 10-8 loss to the Astros when he gave up 10 earned runs in five innings, sending his ERA up from 2.25 to 4.38. After being scratched from Monday’s lineup with quad tightness, Charlie Blackmon will be back in the lineup tonight and Josh Fuentes will be making his first start of the 2020 season and do so playing first base.

The left-handed Alex Young (1-1, 4.50 ERA) will be making his third appearance of the season against the Rockies, but Tuesday will be the first time as a starter for the Diamondbacks. The first time the Rockies saw Young on Aug. 10, he threw two innings of relief and gave up a solo homer to Chris Owings, but still recorded the win in the Rockies’ 12-8 loss. The next day, Young gave up a two-run double to Raimel Tapia and an RBI single to Daniel Murphy in ⅔ of an inning in the Rockies’ 8-7 win. Tuesday’s game will be Young’s third start of the season.
