Colorado Rockies game No. 37 thread: Logan Webb vs. Kyle Freeland

Today is a new day

Tonight was bad, and that’s putting it lightly. However, today is a new day (and tomorrow is an off day)!

After a score resembling a football game last night, the Rockies are searching for answers in the middle of this skid that has seen them outscored 55-15 in their last five games (and only one victory during that time). They will turn to Kyle Freeland (2-1, 3.43 ERA) today to hopefully give them some.

In his last start against the Padres on Friday, Freeland had his worst outing of the season and broke his streak of six straight quality starts to the season. He only lasted 4 13 innings, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits and only striking out two batters. Hopefully that was just a fluke and he will be back to form today.

He will pitch against Logan Webb (2-3, 4.35 ERA), who pitched against the Rockies on August 5 in San Francisco. In that game, he pitched five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and striking out four. Since then, he has only pitched out of the fifth inning once — a seven inning performance against Arizona on August 21. In his last start against the Dodgers on August 27, he pitched just 3 23 innings and allowed five runs on four hits, walked two, and struck out four on just 74 pitches.
