Colorado Rockies game no. 161 thread: Antonio Senzatela vs Zac Gallen

The Rockies look to clinch their last series win of the season

Following a very impressive come from behind victory on Friday night, the Colorado Rockies look to make it two straight against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the desert on Saturday night.

Antonio Senzatela (4-9, 4.10 ERA) gets the call for the Rockies and will look to close his season out on a high note. Senzatela has had a very strong last two months, pitching at least six innings in each of his last nine starts dating back to August 11th. In those starts he has allowed 19 runs on 54 hits over 57 innings of work, good for a 3.00 ERA.

Senzatela has faced the Diamondbacks 17 times in his career, with 13 starts, and is 3-7 with a 5.27 ERA over 8013 innings of work. He has, however, fared much better against Arizona this season, going 1-1 with a 3.04 ERA in four starts. This will be Senzatela’s last start of the season and he will look to go out on a high note, putting an exclamation point on his last two months.

For the Diamondbacks, Zac Gallen (3-10, 4.37 ERA) gets the call coming off a start in which he allowed one run on three hits in six innings of work and got the win. Gallen has been a solid starter for Arizona over the course of the season, but has lacked run support in many of his starts. Gallen has six career starts against the Rockies and is 1-1 with a 2.38 ERA over 34 innings pitched.
