Seeking social media guru!

Want to tweet professionally for Purple Row? Now might be your chance!

Do you have a passion for social media? Have you always wanted to tweet professionally about your favorite baseball team? Now might be your chance!

Purple Row is looking to add a creative writer and social media guru to join our social media team! If you have Photoshop, video editing, and/or motion graphics experience, you’re the utility player that might fill the hole in our lineup. You don’t even have to live in Denver! Keep reading if you think this might be the perfect opportunity for you:

Position Summary

Candidates must have a detailed knowledge of baseball and the Colorado Rockies. Hands-on experience running a brand Twitter and Facebook is encouraged, but not required. However, we do require a strong handle of grammar, syntax, @PurpleRow Twitter voice, and a keen editorial sense. Attention to detail is a must.

This is a part-time contracted position that pays a small stipend ($50/month). You would be required to provide in-game Twitter content during Friday and Sunday games, as well as post site content to Facebook on a daily basis (including weekends). If you would like, you may also contribute written articles to the site, but that is not a requirement.

Please submit your résumé, cover letter, social media handles, links to blog(s) and 1-2 writing samples (short- or long-form) that you think best reflect your style (baseball-related or not).

Below are sample tweet topics. Compose each as if you’re tweeting from the Purple Row account. Assume each topic occurs in real time, and feel free to include any ideas you have for images/GIFs/graphics/etc.

  1. The Rockies win their fifth straight game!
  2. The Rockies lose their fifth straight game.
  3. After entering a tie game with the bases loaded and no outs, Daniel Bard gets out of the jam with a strikeout.
  4. Kyle Freeland goes down with an elbow injury in the eighth inning of his first start.
  5. Bud Black gets ejected after arguing the results of a replay review.
  6. A troll keeps showing up in the menchies with #FireBridich
